One major pet peeve of mine is how many people still seem to take the attitude that indigenous nations somehow "don't count" when it comes to tracking the history of human progress. It's like an age-of-empire brained assumption that living off the land with minimal technological progress means they didn't know any better. But they didn't generally get into large-scale warfare and the eco-systems they cared for thrived generation after generation. So maybe it's us who don't know better?
