OK, so TFG is going to slap tariffs on things we buy from China, Mexico, Canada.
So what will these countries do in response? Well we can see one trick in California Governor Newsom's announcement of California giving a $7500 EV credit when the TFG yanks that at the Federal level - Newsom will grant that credit to all EV's *EXCEPT* Tesla.
Mexico, Canada, and particularly Europe have growing EV manufacturing. So they could easily slap a heavy tariff on the import or sale of Tesla products (including battery systems.) China could do the same, but since it has a Tesla factory it could also apply a heavy sales tax.
A heavy tax could be levied on TFG related (or simply branded) hotels and golf courses.
With so many $billionaire types in TFG's world the TFG administration will have many points of sensitivity that countries harmed by TFG's tariffs could play like a grand piano.
