If I ever got to make my own house...

I'd want a UK plug in my kitchen to use a UK 220v kettle. We have those voltages in North America, I wonder if code would allow that UK plug.
If not, I'm sure it's no biggie to wire on a NA 220v cable to a UK kettle.
