nobody on Nostr: Beating my head against the wall trying to get basic connected wallet functionality ...
Beating my head against the wall trying to get basic connected wallet functionality on an Umbrel full BTC node and Lightning node on Ubuntu Linux distro. It seems like every wallet has a hurdle:
Ledger - install satstack as a final step, install fails, dead in the water. And scared the shit out of me when it deleted my Ledger accounts.
Zeus and Bluewallet: connect wallets to my Lightning node and test sending them Sats from a third Lightning wallet, and can’t pay invoices because wallet 3 can’t route payments to wallets on a private node without RouteHints compatibility.
Really trying to master this tech, but it all feels so early beta. Not sure how some people can confidently fund their Lightning channels with $5000+ worth of Sats and sleep at night.
I started on a windows box, hit tons of dead ends with LN implementation. Re-downloaded the entire blockchain 3 times breaking things. Finally abandoned Windows and switched the box to Linux. New bunch of hurdles. 50+ online tutorials and countless pages of troubleshooting guides later, not sure what’s next. It feels like the mid 90’s when my first PC sat silent for two months while I taught myself how to reinstall windows on a new hard drive.
Running a full BTC node to support the network is easy, but taking the next step to confirming my own on-chain and Lightning transactions is proving to be difficult with the limited time I have to dedicate to side projects.
