Car insurance niggas are freaking out because lots of illegals are driving uninsured and they don't have any address or anything really so even if you get them you can't make them pay for damages. So insurance is charging the rest of us a lot more to compensate. If I were you I would fight that, get quotes from other companies, and then see how low you can get your current carrier to go.
