If we're not waking up to the issues caused by allowing this sort of thing to go unchecked, there's going to be so many unnecessary deaths.

I almost put out a call for help the other day as I have a close family member that's got all the wrong messaging, from climate science denial to anti-covid-vax to believing a vote for PP would be a choice one should make. The challenge with this person isn't in being ready with the facts of the matter on all the points they'd bring up, it's that there's a part of being disinformed in that it's suicide for them to even have a rational discussion about any of it. There's no give - they're somehow convinced that they've uncovered the conspiracy we're all being sheep around, and we need to do our research.

It's very tiring trying to figure out how best to deal with this, but I think it's a skill many of us are going to have to learn, as the mis and disinformation issue gets pervasively worse.
