Cashu with a reliable mint has the potential to improve reliability at the expense of being custodial, but considering most people are using custodial lightning wallets, it's probably a trade off worth considering if you're looking for an alternative to Lightning. Heck you could run the mint yourself for maximum reliability, though at that point you'd likely still have lightning to contend with directly for payouts.
