It is still thrilling 12 years post divorce when I make a major purchase just because I want to, and I can, so I do. I don't have to discuss or compromise or argue or talk/fuck any one around to agreeing. It's my money so I'm spending it. If I want a puppy or a ridiculous kitchen thing or whatever I'm limited by the funds I have and not anyone else and their opinions. Best feeling in the world being able to build my life the way I want it to be.
