So the internet in my bedroom drops when the power goes out and I decided I didn't like that anymore. ​ Moving the access point and ethernet switch to the UPS that powers my computer would make things too cluttered, so instead sitting in a 100°F attic at 10pm to revive a disused cat5e cable so I could use the existing line for POE seemed like a better idea.
