I just took a job that supports full-time remote work, over some alternatives that were hybrid on-site. That wasn't the only reason. Far from it. But it was a big one.
For me, "return to office" is like "wear a tie". I *can*. I have. It didn't kill me. But it's a red flag that the employer cares more about the appearance of work than the actual performance of it.
I'm happy to meet my team IRL, just like I'm happy to wear a suit sometimes. I don't want to be ordered to do either one daily.
