I have 64GB on my work laptop and personal desktop. Even with a lot of stuff running, I never hit any hard limits (at least not on Linux). I do have some stuff farmed onto a small Proxmox cluster of Intel 12th gen NUCs.
What stuff is eating all your ram? Maybe you should move that stuff onto a homelab or mini PCs?
