Haelwenn /элвэн/ :triskell: (nprofile…m3qg) I first got into Linux because I borrowed a classmate's computer (who had DSL) to burn a disc of Linux Mint. Can't quite remember but it was probably LM6 or LM7.
I knew nothing about *nix except that someone on the internet said Linux was cool software. So I put that burned disc into the family computer (My Win 3.11 machine was obviously not just too old to run Mint, it didn't even have a CD drive) and my parents yelled at me because I "broke" the family computer by installing Linux Mint on it (at the time I didn't even know Linux Mint was an OS so I had no idea it'd replace Windows)
And that's how I first touched Linux. After which I found out I could order Ubuntu CDs for free (I believe I had 9.10 CDs as well, as that was my first Ubuntu version)
