He has killed or run off an entire generation of Russian men, and those who have fled will probably not be eager to return. Sometimes I wonder whether-- once this horrible war comes to an end as it eventually must-- the absence of so many men will force change on Russia. It wouldn't be the first time unplanned progress for women has happened because of catastrophic losses. Planned or unplanned, though, more gender parity tends to force other advances in society.
