Hmmm.... on one level Starmer's repeated disavowal of rejoining the EU makes sense, not least as the protracted process does not have that much support in the EU. It would be a pretty difficult project & capacity is likely to be at a premium.
However, the inclusion of the single market, the customer union or moves on freedom of movement is more perplexing.
But, these may be positions that will change (due to 'events') over the course of the Parliament, or so one might hope.
