I'm saying that because of a right-wing framing we have become a place where things that apply to all people or all adults are instead preferentially called "family".
It's the whole political rhetoric around lower prices "for families" and more housing "for families", etc., which is meant to communicate what makes you count in a Christofascist society - membership in a heterosexual patriarchal nuclear family. (cont'd)
