I’ve never accepted the validity of the honorific title after leaving post or office. We shouldn’t call you governor, general, senator or president after you’ve left the job. You should revert back to being a citizen.
This is part of the problem with Trump. He thinks he’s president for life.
Also, no more saluting outside of the military. There’s a reason why the commander in chief is a civilian.
