The qualifying rounds of the Hedd Cup, organized by the Hedd Championship Management, kicked off at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center in Al Oshosh area, Dubai-Al Ain Road. The qualifying rounds were filled with excitement and competition, with a high level of skill demonstrated by the falcons and birds participating, as they strive to excel in the prestigious event of falconry sports. The qualifying rounds, which will continue until January 17, saw the participation of over 750 birds, with the competition divided into morning and evening sessions to facilitate the participation of the falconers and ensure the best possible performance. Rashid Al Harbi, Director of Hedd Championship Management, said that the championship represents an important addition to the sports of falconry and falcon racing in the country, reflecting our interest in the local heritage linked to our ancestors. He added that the championship is witnessing widespread participation from various emirates of the country, which reflects the great passion for this sport. The Hedd Cup is based on the challenge between the falcon and the Houbara bustard, where the falcon must prove its speed and accuracy in hunting the bustard within a set time, reflecting the falconers' skills in training their birds to the highest levels. Each participant is given three attempts to achieve the best possible result in front of a specialized judging committee.
