Diving into Longevity: A Personal Journey
Over the past six months, I've been placing an increasing focus on longevity. A podcast episode from nopara73 (npub1qqv…0c3j) resonated with me, where he was mentioned, "We've solved the money problem; now it's time to concentrate on living a long life." This statement sparked my interest and set me on a quest to explore this fascinating topic.
Since then, I've immersed myself in the subject, reading Peter Attia's book and following his podcast. The insights I've gained have led to some significant changes in my health and lifestyle. Here are a few practices that have made a drastic difference for me:
- Morning Cold Showers: Starting my day with a cold shower has been invigorating and has improved my mental clarity.
- Strength and Bodyweight Training: I've committed to at least two sessions of weight training or bodyweight exercises each week, which has greatly enhanced my physical fitness.
- Eliminating Junk Food and an 8-Hour Eating Window: Cutting out junk food and adopting an 8-hour eating window has improved my energy levels and overall well-being.
- Early Bedtime and Rising Early: Going to bed before 10 PM and waking up early has helped me establish a more productive daily routine.
- Frequent Walking, Especially Uphill in Zone 2: Incorporating regular walks, particularly uphill in Zone 2, has boosted my cardiovascular health and endurance.
- Limiting Alcohol Consumption: I now limit myself to a maximum of one alcoholic drink per week, usually just a beer.
I'm curious to know if anyone else here is interested in longevity. What new practices have you introduced to maintain your health and extend your life? Let's share our experiences and insights!
