Another quiet night shattered by gang violence.

For the first time in a while, no new bombings were reported overnight in Sweden. However, the violence hasn’t stopped—it’s just taken another form.

Last night, in Tyresö, a quiet neighborhood south of Stockholm known for its family homes, gunfire erupted. A townhouse and a car were riddled with bullets, leaving families—many with young children—waking up in terror.

Meanwhile, in Rinkeby, an incident initially reported as a bombing turned out to be something just as grim. A shop owner was assaulted, and his store was set ablaze in what appears to be a criminal retaliation, possibly tied to unpaid debts or extortion. Nine people had to be treated for smoke inhalation.

No arrests have been made in either case.

The police have now issued a stark warning to the public, urging everyone to stay vigilant at night. With recent explosions and attacks targeting residential areas, even everyday activities like walking outside carry a sense of danger.

Criminologist Ardavan Khoshnood has predicted that 2025 could be a record year for bombings, and the tactics of these gangs are becoming more brazen. Many of the perpetrators, police say, are shockingly young—often manipulated by older criminals operating from abroad.

Think about that: a country where warnings about finding hand grenades in stairwells or cellars have become routine. How much longer can we pretend this is normal?
