When you upload your music to Wavlake, you agree to their terms and their 10% fee and they custody all the sats that come your way. Under the hood they create an RSS feed just like a podcast has, where your album is a feed and your tracks are an "item" in the feed, like a podcast episode.
To self-host, all you need to do is create and host your own RSS feed and have a lightning wallet the sats boosted to your album can land in. I have an example feed that has comments explaining each of the tags: https://github.com/de-mu/demu-feed-template/blob/master/feed-with-comments.xml
There are many of us who are happy to help you on a journey to self-hosting. What is your experience level at webhosting? And do you happen to have a lightning node running? There are many solutions for people at all experience levels, but it's my belief that anyone can learn the skills needed to run a node and self-host music with just a little bit of guidance and exposure!
