Think of it as cash. There's the part that stays in your pants pocket, the part that stays in your wallet, the part that stays at home and the part that stays in the bank. Most people recommend spending 1% of the amount you save on security, but I myself have spent less. A cold wallet is enough in most cases. If you have millions in BTC, then it's better to look for other options.
