The more I learn about #seafood and large-scale #fisheries #practices, the less of it I consume. The #tuna fishery is among the worst.
Quote: “Of the over 20,000 registered vessels catching and transporting tuna throughout the world’s #ocean, only a small portion are independently monitored.”
Lack of #regulation has #environmental AND #human costs with such vessels often treating their #workers terribly.
It’s good to see #change, but there’s a long way to go.
