Yeah this is basically what I gathered, thank you (plus a couple people reached out via email).
I think basically what I'm expecting is something a little like a BIP, something that lays out the construction, so that I could code up a tool to recover a wallet (not that I intend to do that, just to illustrate). It should also have motivation/justification of choices made ideally.
