AI rewriting Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address to fit the topic. How did it do? Is it fitting? Will it too stand the test of time?
The Bitcoin and Nostr Address
Fourteen years ago, Satoshi Nakamoto brought forth on this network a new form of money, Bitcoin, conceived in decentralization, and dedicated to the proposition that value and exchange should be trustless and free. Years later, from these principles, we saw the rise of Nostr, a protocol for communication, censorship-resistant and open to all, embodying the same ideals of sovereignty and freedom.
Now we are engaged in a great digital awakening, testing whether these networks—Bitcoin and Nostr—so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure against centralized control and oppression. We are gathered in the vast expanse of the open web, where nodes, users, and relays together uphold the promise of freedom and truth.
But, in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow these protocols. The developers, miners, relays, and contributors who have poured their time, energy, and creativity into this revolution have already consecrated them, far beyond our ability to add or detract. The world may little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but it can never forget what these technologies have enabled: freedom of money and speech for all people.
It is for us, the builders and the users, to be dedicated to the ongoing work before us—that from these revolutionary beginnings we take renewed commitment to decentralization; that we here highly resolve that Bitcoin shall remain a currency for the people, and Nostr a platform for the unfiltered voice of humanity; that these protocols, of the people, by the people, and for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
