That's a good point, well articulated. And I think that's how I handle it too, without having given it a name.

Because, let's face it, you're already "doxxed" in all the ways that matter. You're doxxed to the authorities as soon as you go to the registration office. They happily share your data with non-state institutions. Your bank has fully KYC'ed you. Even if you buy Bitcoin P2P, they could roughly track how much BTC you own. And, let's face it, buying BTC P2P with cash at offline events, if at all, only accounts for a tiny fraction of your purchases.

If you haven't declared your Bitcoins in your tax return, they'll ask you later when buying a house or a car where you got the money from. And you have to, under a legal reversal of the presumption of innocence in financial matters, prove that it doesn't come from questionable sources.

With Bitcoin itself, you can only buy smaller things, for the most part. Building a circular Bitcoin economy has failed miserably so far. We are not too early, we are always too few. All they actually have to do to keep it this way is prevent widespread adoption. And the technical hurdles that still exist today help achieve this goal. With 1% of users worldwide, 98% of whom only hodl, we are not a challenge.

In short, they already know who you are and what you have. Whether you give yourself a pseudonym on social media or not. What's important is only security. From this point on, what's important is only whether you can protect it with a key in your head.

And if you want true anonymity, you're best off going into the woods or mountains of a third country and living there far from civilization. And even that would be difficult.
