it's definitely worth looking into. I just urge caution to the devs that look to do it, to make sure everything is accounted for. Bad actors will abuse exploits to troll, harass and threaten.
That's why "Authorized Fetch" is a thing now, if you're familiar. If you're not, it's basically a surefire way for instances to enforce blocks at the instance level, but right now, it's a Mastodon feature only. Therefore anyone on Akkoma, for example, could "ignore deletes". Meaning that when I block them and my instance sends a request to delete my content, the instance will just ignore the request.🤦♂️ and any mastodon instance that doesn't have it on, user level instance blocks are literally just a mute.😳
