Hey, American banks? Is everything okay? I can transfer money between UK bank accounts in seconds, and send money to other people without needing any third party services. Sending money from my UK bank to my US bank takes hours, (or, since I'm on the west coast and sending after business hours, happens as soon as the bank opens). Sending money between US banks takes days. Sending money to another person in the US is an arcane procedure requiring a thousand intermediaries. What's going on here? Why is this so hard?
