I read that the government is putting up a balloon about going after CGT and negative gearing. Good. Good. But who wants an elegant policy out of Treasury? There is nobody who wants this.
For forty years we’ve had economists coming up with elegant economics and it’s always just been another right wing means of transferring wealth up. It’s time for an honest policy of suplexing those Treasury nerds and hitting Finance with a plastic chair
