I don’t agree with the headline on this piece or its thesis. I do believe we are in a moment when our democracy is in peril.
But that is precisely why I want to hear from those whom I think are imperiling it.
The idea that by publishing this view the Times is “normalizing” it only holds water if you believe the Times’ sole job is to be the mouthpiece of American progressives and that it should never, in the name of informing its readers, publish opinions they disagree with.
