ridiculous question I'm going to answer for myself the fun way: if I wire an ethernet cable with the "wrong" connectors, but I do so on _both sides_, will it still function?
Like... it's just conductors. Surely if I swap them on both ends the result is fine??
Worst case I could imagine that changing the physical locations might mess with the shielding / quality??
