So, I decided to sign up for XMPP (thx Dushman
). Even as an older protocol, it seems promising right now. There doesn't seem to be whining about "verifying yuh sessions" unlike with Matrix, and the server I joined has some cool peeps I met from Fedi. I'll see how it holds up in the long run, but I'm confident that a protocol that is only being made fun of for being EEE'd instead of the "Unable to decrypt message" bullshit won't be so troublesome.
