Is there a name for the tendency for humans to trust the advice and opinions of strangers instead of people we know?

ex. When I was consulting full time I would tend to seek out the silenced frustrated people with ideas for solutions. Then I’d parrot what they told me. And, if they consented, I’d give them credit.

I do the same thing in some cases.

There must be name for this.
