20% retention after a month is actually pretty good. What’s more, we’re only seeing users who WRITE content / like / follow. Users who are just reading on nostr are completely silent.
I heard that as of a couple weeks ago Bluesky only had a a couple thousand daily active users. Which isn’t to diss them, just to remind folks that real usage numbers are what matter, not press or spin.
We win with Nostr if we make a compelling app that people join and want to keep using. This isn’t a horse race where only one new emerging protocol wins. We’ve got many social media apps and communities, that happily exist alongside each other.
