That's what I've found from playing with the Bing generator in the last few days. You can just say "in [author]'s style" and poof it looks like they drew it. Really cool shit, and it does like you say demonstrate the quirks of their art style.
And agreed on it getting boring. That's how it's been for every AI tool I've used. I get addicted to playing with it for a few hours but very quickly it has diminishing returns and the things I want it to do just aren't possible.
Like a 3-4 sentence prompt is not enough parameters for the things I wanna make. I want more creative control, like it'd be cool to have basic 3D models that I can pose and frame myself and just tell the AI to make it look like whatever character with whatever background. And other things. This tech is gonna be transformative when it gets past the novelty stage, which I love and hate.
