The other day, I had a silly debate about whether 8-bit or 16-bit visuals are required for a video game to be deemed “retro”.
My standpoint is, no!
A whole lot of retro games didn’t even have visuals. I’m talking about games like Zork or Adventure. They were text-only.
But does “video” assume “visual”? No, it assumed video output—which indeed existed with text-based video games.
