This Roman parade helmet and mask, dating from late 1st - early 2nd Century AD, was discovered in May 2010 by a treasure hunter in Cumbria, England.
The artifact is considered to have been used by nobles as cavalry parade helmet, worn for sporting events rather than for combat. Besides, excellently crafted face and ornaments, on top of its Phrygian-style cap, helmet features a solid-cast bronze piece in form of a griffin.
It was sold for $3.6 million, at Christie's Auction in April, 2023.
