A big problem with #Google Search AI Overviews is -- according to
Google's OWN disclaimers -- that any given answer can be WRONG. If you have to do independent research (as they suggest) to verify every answer, you might as well have done the research yourself in the first place. I routinely skip over all AIOs now, because I simply don't trust that any given answer won't be incorrect -- I've seen too many that were disastrously wrong, even completely reversed from the actual answer in the linked source material. The percentage of correct answers doesn't really matter, when any given answer can be so horribly wrong -- the trust dynamic is broken.
