Maybe it's as simple as the corporate Dems so effectively killing the "fuck you" spirit that it had to pop up elsewhere, in a much more destructive form. Instead of being opposed to unaccountable power anywhere abusing us, libertarians spun it into only hating the government for doing anything. That's the only way we can have a political movement led by billionaires opposed to democratic institutions. Getting rich via branding and selling shit is supposed to be very uncool. This culture sucks.
