I’d abolish college tbh. As finishing school for elites it makes sense. Everything else though? It’s bad.
1) it uproots people at the beginning of their life
2) it puts all the onus on workers to be “qualified” for a job, discards employers responsibility to train
3) it becomes an arms race where to get into a small pool of good jobs people need more and more years of school to get the kind of life a highschool degree got in the past. Those are years in generalized educational institutes and not even on the job, so it isn’t even helping their vocation, it’s just wasting time
