Can someone please explain this to me.
I’ve been told the federal reserve can print money at the push of a button.
But then does it need to go to the bond market and borrow that same money they printed from ppl/countries that buy US bonds. If that’s the way it works, then the Fed is not really printing money it’s borrowing money which will be repaid. Or is it that the money that the Fed prints is not connected to the bond market?
