I pass no judgment whatsoever on your overall assessment of Hillary Clinton, but I think some context is in order on her "deplorables" comment. The press savagely smeared her by reporting her remarks as the opposite of what she really said.
Contrary to how the press reported it, it was a conciliatory speech. She said "those [Trump supporters] are people we have to understand and empathize with as well."
