I’ve seen mod podge used to create texture with brush streaks and I’ve been trying to recreate it but I can’t figure it out

It seems to dry so slow that it’s smoothed itself out to a nice finish no matter how streaky I apply it 😅 normally that’d be cool but it’s not what I’m going for here

I tried a few glues and an off-brand decoupage glue, too. No luck

Any suggestions? What can I do to get a nice streaky finish? 😂
