when I'm writing programming tutorials (like https://implement-dns.wizardzines.com) sometimes I intentionally introduce things with slightly "bad" abstractions because

a) I'm just not great at writing abstractions
b) I feel like coming up with a better abstraction than I did is kind of fun and a great way for people to understand the code better and make it their own
