What characters do you like to read? Are they the same you like to write?
Honestly, as long as they are thoughtfully written, with depth, flaws, and dimensions that make them seem like real people, I will enjoy reading them. I get extremely bored with characters who just seem to exist to voice an author's opinions or perform actions. Yes, I like to write my characters this way. It's one of the things I ask my editor to look out for: wooden, one-dimensional characters.
