Most video games are proprietary and I never see Linux users complaining about that. I think Richard Stallman made great points, but his worldview can be very restrictive to some people trying to branch out and experience the real world and other software ecosystems. You guy really box yourself into a corner where you are limited in many ways. Some open source alternatives are really good, I a big Mixxx poweruser and Mixxx is open source, I like gimp, kdenlive, blender and the likes, and their Windows ports work just fine. I guess when you do audio it just completely changes your perspective on things.
