If your entrance essay can be AI'd away then it's clear it was never useful for its stated purpose (judging competence) and is now no longer useful for its *actual* purpose (gatekeeping).
Not that "just stop !@$!$ gatekeeping" is ever going to go anywhere, but 🤷. We've had "AI" for a lot of these things for years, we just called them "private tutors" before.
