Instead of being able to put down thoughts efficiently, the act of writing is now slow and painful, and the flow of thought proportionally stunted.
And you haven't even touched on the difference between delete and backspace, or ctrl-leftarrow, or ctrl home, or the myriad other ways of just working _fast_.
But I fear you are right - adoption will be slow.
