It’s really frustrating to hear folks say “gay rights is obvious but trans rights is not” because it’s completely without root in history, and quite recent history. The majority of the population were very comfortable with letting large parts of a whole generation of gay men die of ADIS. The Democratic Party, in my view, has been fundamentally against gay equality until very recently.
The people who say they are pro gay rights, but against trans rights would 100% have been against gay rights then. (With the possible exception of gay transphobes, who got theirs and are frantically pulling up the ladder after themselves)
