I’m beginning to think that hiring specialists that focus on a specific tech tool is a type of tech debt. They help you build up fast at first. But they will never alert you to the fact that you’re past the effective window for their tooling. So in a few years you’ll realize you’ve wasted at least a year because the specialist paid for the scaling with crafty kludges that make switching tooling harder. Specialists should be consultants I guess. And be monitored closely.
