I've always wondered this. Does anyone know what makes the sound in electric motors, like the low whirring sound of a fan when you turn it on? As I understand it the electricity goes through the coiled wires and creates electromagnetism, which causes the motion. So does the sound come from the electricity moving through the wires, or by the vibration of the magnets or something? Can someone good with electronics jump in and let me know?
